Privacy Policy

SonicStudio, LLC (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") establishes the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") regarding the handling of privacy information in the services provided by the Company (hereinafter referred to as "the Service").
- Privacy Information
Among privacy information, "personal information" refers to "personal information" as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, meaning information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, phone number, contact information, or other descriptions contained in such information.
Among privacy information, "usage history and characteristic information" refers to information other than "personal information" as defined above, and includes services used, products purchased, history of pages and advertisements viewed, search keywords entered by users, dates and times of use, methods of use, usage environment, postal code, gender, occupation, age, user IP address, cookie information, location information, and device identification information.
- How Privacy Information Is Collected
When a user registers for use, the Company may ask for personal information such as name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver's license number. The Company may also collect information related to transaction records and payments involving a user's personal information exchanged between the user and business partners (including information providers, advertisers, and ad delivery partners; hereinafter "Partners") from such Partners.
The Company collects usage history and characteristic information about users—such as services and software used, products purchased, history of pages and advertisements viewed, search keywords, date and time of use, method of use, usage environment (including the communication status of mobile devices and various configuration information when used via mobile devices), IP address, cookie information, location information, and device identification information—when a user uses the Company's or a Partner's services or views a page.
- Purposes of Collecting and Using Personal Information
The purposes for which the Company collects and uses personal information are as follows.
- To display registration information such as name, address, contact information, and payment method, as well as information about services used or products purchased and their charges, so that users can view and correct their own registration information and usage status
- To use email addresses to send notifications and communications to users, and to use contact information such as name and address to ship products to users or contact them as needed
- To use information such as name, date of birth, address, phone number, bank account number, credit card number, driver's license number, and results of certified mail delivery for the purpose of verifying a user's identity
- To use information related to payment, such as the names and quantities of products purchased, the type, period, and frequency of services used, billing amounts, name, address, bank account number, and credit card number, for the purpose of billing users
- To display information registered with the Company on input screens, or to transfer it to other services (including those provided by Partners) at the user's instruction, so that users can enter data conveniently
- To use usage patterns and information identifying individuals such as name and address, in order to refuse service to users who violate the Service's terms of use—such as by delaying payment or causing damage to third parties—or who attempt to use the Service for fraudulent or improper purposes
- To use information necessary for the Company to provide services to users, such as the content of inquiries and billing-related information, as well as users' service usage status and contact information, in order to respond to inquiries from users
- For purposes incidental to the above purposes of use
- Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
Except in the following cases, the Company will not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the user's prior consent, except where permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other laws and regulations.
- Where required by law
- Where necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the individual's consent
- Where particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the individual's consent
- Where it is necessary to cooperate with a national or local government agency, or a party entrusted by them, in carrying out affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining the individual's consent would impede the performance of such affairs
- Where the following matters have been announced or disclosed in advance
- That the purpose of use includes provision to third parties
- The items of data provided to third parties
- The means or method of provision to third parties
- That provision of personal information to third parties will be stopped at the individual's request
Notwithstanding the preceding provisions, the following cases shall not be considered as provision to a third party. - Where the Company outsources all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use
- Where personal information is provided in connection with a business succession due to a merger or other reasons
- Where personal information is used jointly with specific parties, and the user has been notified in advance, or the information is readily accessible to the user, regarding this fact, the items of personal information used jointly, the scope of joint users, the purpose of use, and the name of the party responsible for managing the personal information
- Disclosure of Personal Information
When requested by an individual to disclose their personal information, the Company will disclose it without delay. However, the Company may decline to disclose all or part of the information if disclosure would fall under any of the following, and will promptly notify the individual if it decides not to disclose. A fee of 5,000 yen (excluding tax) per request will be charged for disclosure of personal information.
- Where disclosure may harm the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the individual or a third party
- Where disclosure may significantly interfere with the proper conduct of the Company's business
- Where disclosure would otherwise violate laws and regulations
Notwithstanding the preceding provisions, information other than personal information, such as usage history and characteristic information, will not be disclosed in principle.
- Correction and Deletion of Personal Information
- If the personal information held by the Company about a user is incorrect, the user may request correction or deletion of the personal information in accordance with the procedures established by the Company.
- If the Company receives such a request from a user and determines that it is necessary to comply, the Company will correct or delete the personal information without delay and notify the user accordingly.
- Suspension of Use of Personal Information
If an individual requests that the use of their personal information be suspended or that it be deleted (hereinafter "Suspension of Use") on the grounds that it is being handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use, or that it was obtained through improper means, the Company will promptly conduct the necessary investigation and, based on the results, suspend use of the personal information and notify the individual accordingly. However, where suspension of use would require a substantial cost or is otherwise difficult to carry out, and alternative measures can be taken to protect the rights and interests of the individual, the Company will take such alternative measures instead.
- Changes to the Privacy Policy
The content of this Policy may be changed without notice to users.
Except as otherwise specified by the Company, the revised Privacy Policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on this website.
